THE FIRM'S BACKGROUND

Suhaimi Khor Zulkifli & Chang is a long-established law firm since 1976 and is amongst the oldest and respectable boutique law firm in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The firm was established by four founding partners namely Suhaimi @ Sulaiman bin Said, James Khor Kean San, Zulkifli Amin bin Nordin and Matthias Chang Wen Chieh.

The four gentlemen who met in the Inns of Court, London in the early 1970s returned to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia after admitted as Barristers in their respective Inns of Court. Their ambition was to work as a team and build up a dynamic legal practice in Kuala Lumpur. They wanted to create a professional team-based environment in which lawyers can grow and flourish in their legal disciplines.

We are proud that the success of the firm has paved the way for many opportunities. Our Matthias Chang was given the honour to serve the country when he was appointed to act as the Political Secretary to our 4th Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohammed from 26th June 2001 until 31st October 2003. He has since then returned to the firm and is back in practice again.

Our vision is to expand our niche law firm with the strategic aim of establishing close working relationships with other world-wide group of lawyers and business advisers to meet the challenges of globalization. The Founding Partners vision was shared by Rabotlaw Legal Practice in Ghent, Belgium and together we established Eurasia International Legal Network in June 2003. The objective of the network is to have a selection of strong independent legal firms, in the major commercial centers. This is to ensure we continue to satisfy the global needs of our clients at the domestic and international levels.
